There are many things you can do to accent the style of your dining room. You can paint the walls a new color. You can add a table runner to the dining room table. Or you can create accents in the room by putting in new dining room drapery. In order to get the full look you want, dining room drapery can do quite a bit. If you want a certain style, formal or relaxed, you can find plenty of options to consider. There are not right or wrong answers, it’s all a matter of style.

For formal dining rooms, you will want to go with drapery that is romantic, chic, or dramatic. Look for drapery that have crisp lines and are long enough to drape the floor. You can also buy sweeping valances to complete the look. In order to get the look you want, try rod pocket drapery on just one rod and place a sheer curtain in the middle. You can even include a valance to get the formal look in your dining room. Scalloped valances over sheer drapery can help give you a soft, romantic look while blocking out a little light and allowing a little privacy. Try to find dining room drapery that feature only one or two colors that accent the rest of the room. If you want a formal setting, avoid busy patterns unless you are certain they go with the room.

If you prefer a more relaxed setting, look for simple dining room drapery and valances that have whimsical patterns on them. You can get a small tab-top valance with drapery that fall to the length of the windows. Whatever you do, make sure you avoid stiff, floor length drapery or rolling shades. That will make the room look less comfortable and more formal and controlled. As you look for dining room drapery to make your room feel more comfortable and free, look for patterned drapery that have flowers, gingham prints, and other styles. Your dining room drapery should give you a breezy, fun feel within the room. In order to pull the room together with the dining room drapery, buy extra fabric and make some table runners or chair cushions. Having the same fabric throughout the room will really draw things together with the dining room drapery you have chosen.
